More New Stuff

I've added some more stuff to the site in the past few days. The full-text Search page is now available for testing. I'd appreciate any comments, positive or negative. (Hint: leave the search string blank and enter a number in the "Don't show documents older than..." box to get a list of recently added/updated pages.)

I also added a fan art Gallery to the Fandom section. The only problem is, I don't have any fan art yet. If you're an artist, please consider sending in some of your 3x3 Eyes-related work.

Finally, I just uploaded the 3x3 Eyes FAQ version 1.10. There were several changes, but no major new additions. If you haven't read the FAQ yet, please do so!

Later this week, I plan to upload the first Mailbag, clean up the news archive, convert the manga translations to HTML (in order to work better with the search engine), and add at least one new translated chapter courtesy of John Rong. I also hope to get more work done on the Products pages. Some translation issues have held me up, but I'm going to ignore them for now. The Products pages should be online by the end of the month.

September Feature Now Online

This month's feature is online, offering a look at the Top Ten 3x3 Eyes Products. Consider this a preview of the Products pages. I decided to go ahead and upload the feature without pictures, and I'll add those in later. If you have any opinions, send them in.

The survey script was not acting exactly as I intended, so I did a bit more tweaking yesterday. I even tested with Netscape, and that helped me spot a few bugs I missed. I don't plan to touch the script again unless someone complains.

Stealth Updates

A few days ago I updated the Glossary and added a new Survey question, which you can hopefully now see to the right. This is my newly hacked version of RobPoll 1.0 (which replaces the previous hacked version). Let me know if you experience any weirdness. You can still vote on the previous question if you want. Next I need to finish hacking the feedback form script to add in a few new commands (it'll be cool, trust me).

Mailbag Request: If you have an interesting story about how you first discovered 3x3 Eyes, please send it in, and I will add it to next month's mailbag, along with my own story. Keep the stories short (a paragraph or two at most) unless you have something really interesting to share. I'll try to find some stuff for the September mailbag soon, but I haven't been receiving much mail lately.

Manga News, Cover Scans

Oh, so you want some news, do you? Well, the September issue of Newtype has 3x3 Eyes #28 listed as the top-selling manga at the end of June. It beat out a lot of other good titles, including Basara and GTO. I expect #29 to be a top seller as well, since I haven't seen much competition for it lately. I'm more interested in seeing how Takada's other title, Genzo Hitogata Kiwa, is selling (see previous news updates for more on Genzo).

If you want to see what these new manga look like, check out these cover scans by Italian webmaster Enrico. He's got scans of the 1999 calendar ad and T-shirt giveaway ad there too. Unfortunately the chance to get a free 3x3 Eyes T-shirt has now passed. (I'm still looking for the T-shirts in stores, though.) What do you think, Haan and Genzo, separated at birth?
