New Site Online (Finally)

Wow, so much news I don't know where to start. First of all, please let me know what you think of the new site. I realize that a lot of stuff is missing right now, but I plan to keep adding a few pages a week until I get everything online. If you missed the note on the main page, there will be over one hundred pages here when everything is online, so give me a few months to get it all straightened out. Of course, that's just the beginning, and I hope to make this site more interactive so that others can contribute.

This site will be replacing both 3x3 Eyes Info and the 3x3 Eyes content on Dark Side of the Wu. If anyone has links to those pages, please change them to point here:
http://www3.osk.3web.ne.jp/~davepark/digest/
Once I have all of the content from the other pages online here, I will delete them and put up pointers to this site. (I'm keeping the Dark Side of the Wu page online, but only for anime pages other than 3x3 Eyes.)

New Home For Manga Translations

Jeff Hansen, translator and maintainer of the 3x3 Eyes Translation Page, has left Japan and moved back to the United States, so he will no longer be able to maintain his page. He has asked me to take it over, and the manga translations are now part of this site. Other webmasters can link directly to the 3x3 Eyes Digest: Translations page. I'm not sure how long the old site will be online, so please change any links to point to the location above. I am not a translator myself (yet), but Jeff has assured me that he is still translating the manga and will have some more chapters available in the future. Any other fan translators are welcome to submit new translations as well. Just send them to me and I'll convert them to HTML.

Note that translations of recent manga chapters are available at Ronny's Crappy Translation Page (they're actually not that bad, but that's the page name). I mention it here since I haven't updated the Links pages yet.

New Book: Youma Daizukan

OK, here's some actual news and not just a site-related announcement. A book titled 3x3 Eyes: Youma Daizukan (Monster Big Picture Book) was published by Kodansha on April 24, 1998. This book is similar to the 3x3 Eyes no Himitsu (Secrets of 3x3 Eyes) book in that it is a compilation of facts about the manga characters and storyline. (Remember that in 3x3 Eyes nearly everyone is a "youma".) Unlike Himitsu, however, this book is fully authorized by Kodansha and Young Magazine, and therefore contains tons of black and while art taken directly from the manga series. It also covers all of the manga up to Vol. 27. I'll have lots more details about this book once I get the Products pages online (which is going to be quite a task). Here's the basic facts:

Tenrin Oh Genmu Coming To PlayStation

The 3x3 Eyes ~Tenrin Oh Genmu~ released for Windows PCs near the end of 1997 will be coming to the Sony PlayStation in early August. The original game was by Nihon Create (check out their new website at www.nihon-create.co.jp), and the PlayStation version is from King Records. The Playstation game will come on 3 CDs (unlike 2 for the PC game) and will include a special CD single containing a new opening theme song for the game, sung by Megumi Hayashibara. The game will cost 6800 yen, which is a good bit cheaper than the ¥10800 charged for the PC game.

3x3 Eyes FAQ Official Release

I finished the first official version of the 3x3 Eyes Frequently Asked Questions list. Please let me know what you think, and don't hesitate to send any corrections or additions. Anyone may redistribute for free, as long as it not edited in any way. If you quote from the FAQ, please cite it as the source or include a link to this website. Also, if anyone would like to translate the FAQ into other languages, please ask my permission first. I will probably be making a list of links to "official" translations. For the next FAQ release, I plan to break the HTML version into multiple files so it will be faster to browse, but the text version will always be a single file.

Manga Vol. 28 Published

I take over the translation page, and already there's work for me! Volume 28 of the collected 3x3 Eyes manga was published on June 5 in Japan, so I have added the chapter information to the Translations page.
